Pioneers re-elect J. Michael Sears as Chairman of the Board, TelecomPioneers

Pioneers is proud to announce that J. Michael Sears has been re-elected as Pioneers Chair of the Board for TelecomPioneers.  Pioneers is the world’s largest corporate-based volunteer organization headquartered in Denver, Colorado and is comprised of 620,000 men and women who are employees and retirees of the telecommunications industry.   Pioneers is a network of volunteers who effect immediate, tangible change in local communities.  Pioneers members volunteered over 22 million hours in 2013 in communities across Canada and the United States.

Mr. Sears is based out of his Halifax, Nova Scotia office.

About our Chairman:
Mr. Sears has been a proud member since he joined in the Pioneers in 1993. He has served in many diverse roles during his tenure with the Pioneers, including: President, Future Pioneers; Council President; Chapter President; Manager, Bell Aliant Pioneers; Director, Computers for Schools; Board of Directors, International Pioneers and President and CEO, Canadian Pioneers. Through all of his work, Mr. Sears has remained committed to the core tenants of fellowship, loyalty and service that are at the heart of Pioneering.

Mr. Sears has worked over 30 years in the telecommunications industry with Bell Aliant headquarted in Halifax, Nova Scotia -  and has held a variety of positions including those in Network Operations, Customer Service, Human Resources, Finance, Business Services, Data Services, Marketing, Training and Communications and Public Affairs. 

Mr. Sears, P.Mgr.;C.I.M.; CD was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for his volunteer contributions to his country by Nova Scotia Premier, the Honourable Darrell Dexter and Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia - Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret'd).
